The whole world stopped. The King of the Universe was staring straight into my eyes that were swelling with tears. Peace rolled down my face, my shoulders relaxed, and there was nothing else filling my mind. Him. He is the one, the only one that can fulfill me. His name is Jesus. (Encounter during a prayer time I had this September.)
To be face-to-face with the living God. The peace does not seem real. Yet, alive and ever present in the Eucharist, there is no denying that what co-founder of Family Missions Company, Mr. Frank Summers, said, "We serve a real God, who does real things, for real people in the real world."
Jesus is real.
Through the Missioners of Christ, alongside the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, the youth of Comayagua, Honduras, were able to experience the same living God through the Eucharist. Each year, there are a set of retreats that we put on for the local youth. The first one is "Pan de Vida" or "Bread of Life" which is a Eucharistic-based retreat with various talks, small groups, praise and worship, and adoration.
We planned, prepared, and prayed for the retreat to go well, but who were we kidding... put 100 youth in front of the King of the Universe, and conversion will happen. In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, we are reminded of how God is seeking us out, "...at every time and in every place, God draws close to man." (CCC 1)
He is close, so close, and changing lives. God wants to encounter YOU. Will you let Him draw close?
El mundo entero se detuvo. El Rey del Universo me miraba fijamente a los ojos que se llenaban de lágrimas. La paz rodó por mi rostro, mis hombros se relajaron y no había nada más que llenara mi mente. Él. Él es el único que puede llenarme. Su nombre es Jesús. (Encuentro durante un tiempo de oración que tuve este Septiembre).
Estar cara a cara con el Dios vivo. La paz no parece real. Sin embargo, vivo y siempre presente en la Eucaristía, no se puede negar lo que dijo el cofundador de Family Missions Company, el Frank Summers: "Servimos a un Dios real, que hace cosas reales, para gente real en el mundo real".
Jesús es real.
A través de los Misioneros de Cristo, junto a los Frailes Franciscanos de la Renovación, los jóvenes de Comayagua, Honduras, pudieron experimentar al mismo Dios vivo a través de la Eucaristía. Cada año, hay una serie de retiros que organizamos para los jóvenes locales. El primero es "Pan de Vida" que es un retiro basado en la Eucaristía con varias charlas, pequeños grupos, alabanza y adoración.
Planeamos, preparamos y rezamos para que el retiro saliera bien, pero... pon a 100 jóvenes frente al Rey del Universo, y la conversión ocurrirá. En el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, se nos recuerda cómo Dios nos busca, "...en todo tiempo y lugar, Dios se acerca al hombre". (CIC 1)
Él está cerca, muy cerca, y cambiando vidas. Dios quiere encontrarse contigo. ¿Dejarás que se acerque?
