As you may know, Louisiana was recently hit by hurricane Laura. The Family Missions Company headquarters are located in Abbeville, Louisiana. The missionaries living on campus were required to evacuate but it is by the grace of God that there was very little damage compared to what was expected. Praise Jesus for His protection!
In all of this craziness, I was able to return to our headquarters a about two weeks ago! I have been settling in, getting used to the humidity, and fighting mosquitoes but it is SO good to be home with my missionary brothers and sisters!
Last Monday, I had an opportunity to serve the people of Ragley, Louisiana which is right north of Lake Charles. I volunteered at St. Pius X Catholic Church where we distributed items to people who had lost everything in the hurricane. Many of the community members said that it was estimated they would not get power for several months.
People were crying in thanksgiving that we had items such as bug spray, water, ice, and soap. The Lord placed several people in our path who were struggling to find hope but they so beautifully trusted that the Lord was faithful and would provide for their needs.
Please pray for healing and restoration in these communities!
